Do you have any questions before we begin?
[Answer any questions that they might have to the best of your abilities]
Being educated on logging disciplinaries is vital for you as a member of HIA.
A disciplinary action is the act of warning, striking, demoting, and/or firing HIA personnel
due to inappropriate behaviour and breaches of the HIA Code of Conduct.
Let’s go through how to log a disciplinary properly step-by-step.
Please open a new tab and go to
hiahabbo|com > Code of Conduct > Disciplinary Actions Guide
and let me know once you’re there.
Please go through the slideshow before we begin.
Let me know when you have finished.
I will now cover important notes covered by the slideshow:
¥ For a discipline to take place, there MUST be a Code of Conduct violation.
¥ Logs made from personal disputes are invalid, and the logger will be at fault.
¥ If you witness someone breaking a rule, firstly inform them of the rule they are breaking
and kindly ask them to stop, as this may prevent further escalation.
¥ The offender MUST be given a verbal warning prior to discipline.
Verbal warnings must include the CoC rule that they violated.
¥ Screenshots must be clear and relevant to the log, with usernames and timestamps.
Please remember to include a screenshot of the verbal warning.
You can find examples of screenshot sites to use for your log
on Slide 6 of the Disciplinary Actions Guide. Samples are provided to guide you too.
[Avoid mentioning the sites in-game as it will mute you, if the trainee asks, inform them to check the guide after the training or let them know on Discord.]
¥ Screenshots taken by phone camera are discouraged,
but permitted if they are clear images of rules broken.
¥ Do ensure there is NO excessive cropping of screenshots.
¥ The member being disciplined MUST be a lower division than you.
(Exceptions can be made by Directorate+)
¥ If a member in the same or higher division than you is violating the Code of Conduct,
approach a higher division than them or a Legal Affairs member for assistance.
¥ Logs MUST be approved by SM+, and the approver must be a higher division than yourself.
Legal Affairs members are able to approve logs for others regardless of ranks.
SM+ members MUST have completed Disciplinary Training to approve.
¥ Users approving logs MUST ensure the log is valid, or they will also be held responsible.
~ Only 4iC+ members can approve instant fire logs, if the rule broken is an Instant Fire Offence.
¥ Only PS+ members can log warnings/strikes.
¥ Only GOV+ members can log fires.
GOV+ members CAN log instant fires with approval from 4iC+ members.
