What is Discord?
Discord is a free communication platform that HIA uses as a main platform to request Badge Admins, Portal Admins, Room Rights holders and so on. It is also used for announcements, discussions, and friendly chats among HIA and non-HIA members (e.g. HIA Investors).
What’s allowed and not allowed to be posted on Discord?
ONLY post content that abides by the Code of Conduct. You are allowed to post safe-for-work images, YouTube links, or Lightshot captures. However, keep in mind that many Habbo users are of young age, so all posts must be age-appropriate (PG 13), decent and following HIA guidelines. Forwarding full posts from the #apps-forms and #feedback-forms in the #staff-chat is not allowed. You are allowed to post with the Message Link and also announce submission winners.
Discord Rules and Guidelines
Your behaviour on Discord MUST follow the Code of Conduct, the Discord Policy, and all other HIA policies at all times. Here are some additional specific rules for using HIA’s Discord Server:
§1 - #general and/or #staff-chat channels are to be used ONLY for any Habbo/HIA related topics. Any discussions or other topics are welcomed in #random channel, direct messages, and/or private channels that permit it.
§2 - All new members to Discord MUST be verified and assigned their respective roles. Usernames MUST also correlate with their Habbo usernames, this also applies to Investors, Diplomatic Guests or any other permitted guests.
§3 - Polls may be created in channels as long as they are appropriate to the channel (e.g. HIA related polls in #general). Polls may not be sent through direct messages unless approved by a Directorate+.
§4 -It’s highly recommended not to display social media usernames, phone numbers, or other personal contact information on your Discord profile. While it’s your personal choice to share personal information, doing so on public HIA channels is not allowed. Please refer to our Safety Guides for further information.
§5 - Consecutive capital letters are not allowed in #general, #staff-chat, or related private channels. You may use them in the #random channel or other private channels that allow it. Repeated use of consecutive capital letters after being asked to stop may result in a temporary ban from the server and/or disciplinary action.
§6 - “Shading” (calling someone out indirectly or directly) in any public chat is not allowed. If you have concerns about someone’s behaviour, contact them privately or message a Discord Admin (DA). Ignoring requests to stop may lead to a temporary ban or disciplinary action, depending on the situation and its severity.
§7 - Non-HIA related links should not be posted in public channels (you may share in DMs). You can share YouTube links in #random. For pictures, it’s best to upload them directly from your device to a public channel. Links to Google Forms, Docs, TypeForms, etc., are allowed ONLY if they are related to HIA. If you are unsure whether a link is allowed in a channel, please ask a Discord Admin.
§8 - Leaking private information from any Discord channel/DM (e.g. special units or electives) is prohibited. If the information is meant to be private, keep it that way. Infringement of the rule will result in disciplinary action based on the severity of the action.
§9 - Posting any media (pictures, videos, audio, or texts) that is gory, sexually suggestive, promotes substance abuse, or is otherwise inappropriate for HIA is strictly prohibited. This includes content that may be offensive and/or explicit. Failure to do so will result in a temporary ban and other disciplinary consequences.
§10 - All rules from the Code of Conduct, Habbo Way, Discord Guide, and other HIA policies & guides are in effect while chatting on Discord. If you have any questions or serious concerns, please contact a Discord Admin or a 1iC+ member.
§11 - Members promoted to specific ranks or added to special units must remain in their respective channels, as these channels are essential to the rank or unit. If a member accidentally leaves a channel, they should be added back immediately. Refusal to stay in the channel may result in removal from their rank or from the special unit at the discretion of the SU Overseer.
§12 - Suspected hacked Discord Accounts or suspicious Discord accounts may be banned indefinitely by a Directorate+ to ensure the safety of our members. Suspicious accounts include those possibly affiliated with mafia, members under investigation by Legal Affairs or 1iC+, or exhibiting behaviour that threaten the safety of HIA’s members.
§13 - Fired members, alternative accounts and those on the Ban on Sight (BoS) or National Punishment (NP) lists are NOT allowed in the HIA Discord. These members will be banned immediately. Only a Directorate+ can unban, and they must first follow the proper rehiring or removal process.

I have an announcement. Can I do it in #internal-alerts or #public-alerts?
ONLY Discord Admins can post messages in #internal-alerts or #public-alerts. If you have an announcement, request @Discord Admin in #requests, and they will post the alerts for you.
How do I join Discord?
HIA members can join HIA’s Discord Server by first creating a Discord account. To join our server, members should visit the HIA Website > Resources > Discord > Discord Verify Guide, where they will find all the necessary steps for successful verification. It’s strongly recommended to sign up with an email that is NOT your Habbo email.
How can I see other channels (e.g. photo memories or special units)?
Once your account is successfully verified, you will be assigned two main roles: Verified & HIA Staff. If you need access to public channels, such as #photo-memories or #giveaways, all you need to do is go on #role-react channel and react to the channels you may be interested to join. If you need access to private channels, such as Special Units that you are a member, please go to #requests and ask a Discord Admin to assign you the appropriate roles.

How do I use #requests?
There are specific guidelines for making requests in this channel. Below are some examples of how to use #requests and scenarios where you would need to make a request:

How will I know when my request has been completed?
Once your request has been fulfilled, the person handling it will react with an emoticon to let you know your request has been seen and completed.

Hover over the request you wish to react to, and you should see a smiley face icon. Clicking on it will allow you to ‘’Add reaction’’ to the post. The emoticon you selected will appear highlighted in blue, indicating your reaction.
